Letter from Zambia

Dear Fellow Emmaus members, re: EMMAUS COMMUNITY TO BE ESTABLISHED IN ZAMBIA!

It is with joy that I advise you that the Upper Room is in the process of establishing an Emmaus Community in Zambia. They will be having their first Walks in Ndola in 2013 and in preparation, this year four men and four ladies from Zambia will be attending the Walks at our own Papillon Community in Mpumalanga. Together with them will be Zambian residents, Bill and Cassie Bauson who did their Emmaus Walks years ago in the States. They will be shadow Board reps/or 4th ALDs on the Papillon Walks so that they can see the full process of the Walks again. Then in September, hopefully between twelve and sixteen more Zambian pilgrims will attend Walks in South Africa. Obviously much prayer support is needed for all this, but it has also been suggested that as an act of agape love, it would be good if the Communities of Africa South could do what they can to assist these pilgrims and team members with their Walk fees and flight costs to South Africa and any other expenses. If your Community would like to bless them in this way, ‘donations can be made directly to Africa South and should be clearly marked “Zambia”. The Africa South banking details are:

Obviously there will also be the opportunity for Africa South Emmaus members to serve on the teams for the first Zambian Walks but we will give you more details about that closer to the time. May we take this opportunity to wish you all a healthy, blessed and Jesus filled year.

Although the year started with a few bumps for many of us, we know that our God reigns and that He makes everything work for His good if we let Him.

Just a reminder for the Jol / Gathering on Saturday 28^th January.

We are getting together at BMC – Bedfordview Methodist Church, at 5pm.

Chrysalis is organising and we hope to have a good turnout.

Bring a picnic supper and they have organised a movie.

Urgent change of dates

Good morning Community,

It is with humility that I write this e mail I am feeling very bad but there has been a mix up with the Ladies Dates for the October walks. Emseni phoned me yesterday afternoon to tell me that they had our dates down as the 20^th October and not the 13^th. Unfortunately there is a large group of people coming from Natal and so we are unable to change dates around. I realise that this has put people out but to be truthful a few good faithful people believe that God has a plan on this. Because I feel responsible for it, it is hard for me but this morning already I have seen Gods hand in this. I am praying that the Community understands and that those people sponsoring pilgrims will be able to still make the walk. If not they will be first on the list for March. I know and I think all of you know that God always knows the right timing and I trust in Him on this too. There are a few gaps in the team so if you feel God is calling you please contact me. Please would you pass this message on to anyone you know. Should you wish to speak to me my details are below. I can only offer my true and humble apologies for this.

Finally to say to the team you have all worked with true servants hearts and for those who cannot make it now perhaps God has put you on a journey that you have already enjoyed and benefited from. Please consider March and yes those dates are correct!!

Please pray for Brian Jennings, as he has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia. He starts Chemo on Monday. Please think of Lorraine his wife and the family overseas.

Dear Community,

Please can we add Ed to our prayers and to prayer chain. Ed has been diagnosed with Diabetes very recently. Please remember that Amanda his wife also had diabetes, this is very hard for him especially at this time. Can we pray for comfort and healing and peace for him.
