Good afternoon community,

Please can we all pray for Helen De Beers husband Fanie, he had a shoulder op a few weeks ago and is still in ICU in the Union Hospital in Alberton as he has now contracted pneumonia and has a tracheotomy and has been on the ventilator.

Please can we all pray for his recovery!

Zambia Emmaus Community

Dear Friends

Hi there. Hope you are well.

I have very exciting news. We are in the process of starting a new Emmaus Community in Zambia. There are a tiny handful of very dedicated people who have been on Emmaus and have made it possible to light the flame for starting Emmaus in Zambia. Last year Ralph Willcox and I went to have the initial discussion with Bill and Cassey Bauson in Ndolo, Zambia.

The long term plans are that about 20 pilgrims will attend the walks in South Africa during 2012. Then the South African team will go to assist the establishment of the first walks in July 2013 and then a smaller team for the second walks in July 2014 and then finally 2 board reps will attend in July 2015. It is a huge undertaking but we know that the Lord is wanting us to go forward in faith to bring this wonderful programme to Zambia. Please join us in prayer as we seek God’s guidance, God’s power and God’s anointing to prepare the pilgrims to attend the walks.

We are welcoming 4 men and 4 ladies pilgrims as well as Bill and Cassey as team members to one of our communities in South Africa to attend a walk at the Papillon Community for the 2 walks happening on the 8 – 11^th March and 15 – 18^th March 2012.

We are desperately looking for assistance towards the sponsorship of these pilgrims and team members. The total cost per person – flights and team fees - comes to R6500 for the 10 folk. Plus we need to host them a few days before and after the walks and transport them to and from the venue. This would also apply for the next pilgrims coming in September 2012. We are also looking at this type of funding for the teams that will go next year.

My appeal is to ask whether anyone would like to assist us in sponsorship for these walks as well as towards the future planed walks.

Dear Fellow Emmaus members, re: EMMAUS COMMUNITY TO BE ESTABLISHED IN ZAMBIA!

It is with joy that I advise you that the Upper Room is in the process of establishing an Emmaus Community in Zambia. They will be having their first Walks in Ndola in 2013 and in preparation, this year four men and four ladies from Zambia will be attending the Walks at our own Papillon Community in Mpumalanga. Together with them will be Zambian residents, Bill and Cassie Bauson who did their Emmaus Walks years ago in the States. They will be shadow Board reps/or 4th ALDs on the Papillon Walks so that they can see the full process of the Walks again. Then in September, hopefully between twelve and sixteen more Zambian pilgrims will attend Walks in South Africa. Obviously much prayer support is needed for all this, but it has also been suggested that as an act of agape love, it would be good if the Communities of Africa South could do what they can to assist these pilgrims and team members with their Walk fees and flight costs to South Africa and any other expenses. If your Community would like to bless them in this way, ‘donations can be made directly to Africa South and should be clearly marked “Zambia”. The Africa South banking details are:
